Defying Malnutrition, Nigeria (2025).
The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) has been at the frontline of tackling malnutrition in Nigeria following the escalation of the crisis in August 2024. This photo series captures their interventions in Sokoto and Zamfara, where awareness campaigns teach mothers about the types of meals essential for children’s growth. With poverty and insurgency as a key barrier to proper nutrition, the NRCS also empowers families through Mothers’ Clubs and Papa’s Clubs, helping parents develop small-scale businesses that generate income to provide for their households.
