This photo assignment delves into Street Child UK's initiatives in Nigeria and globally, focusing on the organization's efforts to empower teenagers through digital camera training. The project highlights the significance of enabling young individuals to narrate their own stories using photographs.
I captured the instructional process of Tutor Nelson Apochi as he guides selected teenagers in photographing elements that captivate them within their communities, as part of F I F T E E N.
F I F T E E N showcases a collection of raw and thought-provoking images captured by teenagers in Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Uganda and Ukraine. From active conflict zones and refugee camps to remote and marginalised communities, in which images they took were displayed as a part of an exhibition put together by Street Child Uk that explores what it means to be 15 years old in drastically different contexts.
